How do I track time for multiple projects?

Create separate projects for each client or task using the "Add Project" button in the sidebar. Each project can have its own hourly rate, making it easy to calculate earnings separately. Simply click on a project to select it before starting the timer, and your time will be tracked under that project.

Does the timer continue when I close the browser tab?

Yes! The timer stores its start time in your browser's local storage, so it will continue running even if you close the tab or restart your browser. When you return, the timer will display the correct elapsed time. Just make sure you're using the same browser on the same device.

Can I add time entries manually for work I forgot to track?

Absolutely! Click the "Add Entry" button above your time entries list. You can specify the project, date, duration, and optionally add start/end times and a description. This is perfect for logging offline work, meetings, or any time you forgot to start the timer.

How are my earnings calculated?

Earnings are calculated by multiplying the tracked hours by your project's hourly rate. For example, if you track 2.5 hours on a project with a $50/hour rate, your earnings for that entry would be $125. The summary section shows your total earnings for the selected time period across all projects.

Is my data saved if I clear my browser cache?

Your data is stored in your browser's local storage. Clearing your browser data, cache, or cookies will permanently delete your time entries and projects. We recommend using the Export feature regularly to back up your data as a CSV file that you can import into spreadsheet applications or accounting software.

What keyboard shortcuts are available?

Use Spacebar to start or pause the timer, Escape to stop and save your current session, Ctrl+N (or Cmd+N on Mac) to open the manual entry form, and Ctrl+D to toggle dark mode. These shortcuts help you track time without reaching for your mouse.

Why isn't my timer showing the correct time?

If the timer seems inaccurate, it's usually because of system clock changes or the device going to sleep for extended periods. The timer uses your computer's clock to calculate elapsed time. Try stopping the current session and starting fresh. If issues persist, manually add an entry for the correct duration.

Can I delete existing time entries?

Yes, you can delete entries. Hover over any entry in your time entries list to reveal the delete button (trash icon). Click it to remove the entry. Note that deletions cannot be undone, so consider exporting your data before making significant changes. For corrections, you can delete an incorrect entry and add a new manual entry with the correct information.
